International Sales

Pyramid’s export department is responsible for serving customers internationally.

The Company’s overseas accounts include large, multiple outlet retailers; Discounters with multiple stores; Distributors and wholesalers, supplying outlets and stores in their own markets; Smaller retailers; Online stores; A variety of other specialist accounts.

The high demand for quality licensed products has led to growth for Pyramid and an increased volume of business for its valued customers abroad. International customers are serviced via an enviable worldwide distribution network, which has taken many years to build. During this time the Company has developed many long-standing and productive trading relationships.

We have recently opened a new EU distribution hub based in Germany, from here you can order items for direct despatch once you have registered for a trade account.

From the EU Hub we offer a (working) day lead time from confirmation of your order to despatch. The really great news is that this is free from the customs formalities associated with importing into the EU.

Licensing

Pyramid
International actively represents up to 1,000 of the world’s biggest licences and properties. This includes most of the major international film studios, television companies, music merchandisers, brands, artists and photographers. This impressive portfolio of licences and broad product diversity delivers consistent customer sales and generates strong returns for its licensors.

Since 2011, Pyramid has increased its product portfolio and extended its licensing rights. These positive and exciting changes have seen the introduction of multiple formats in many product categories, with a host of the best licences for these products. The Company is continually developing new, innovative products and formats to satisfy the demands of the global market.

Pyramid operates licences on a global basis, exporting across the EU and beyond. Many of the licences also cover South East Asia, North America, South America, Africa, the Middle East and Australia. To facilitate sales across all these countries, the Company always endeavours to secure international rights and distribution. The royalties team then ensures that reports are accurate and are sent quarterly using state-of-the-art management systems.

Pyramid recognises that protecting trademarks is vital. The Company is a founding member of TRAP (Trademarks and Rights-holders Against Piracy) and works with Trading Standards and licensors to take down infringers selling unlicensed merchandise on the high street and online.

This working practice is highly effective. The removal of infringing products results in better protection for licensors, which maximises royalty income.

Pyramid is also a proud member of LIMA (Licensing Industry Merchandisers’ Association) and The ACC (Artists Copyright Coalition).

As a Company with design at its heart, Pyramid International and The Art Group have an in-house team of designers based at their Leicester studio. These designers have a mix of interests and many years’ experience, designing licensed products and working with artists and rights-holders.

It is also integral at every level of Pyramid’s operations — from product design and point-of-sale displays, to corporate ID, catalogues, advertising and all approvals.

The Company holds more than 250 active licences, plus many other agreements with artists and rights-holders. Together, these cover a variety of product ranges and international territories.

The challenge for the design team is to keep refreshing these ranges with new products, designs and on-trend imagery. To this end, the team is focused, highly skilled and adapts quickly to changes and trends in the marketplace, their passion and talent shapes every innovation, creating products with ingenuity, originality and style.
