Released back in 1995, Super Mario Bros. was the game that started it all. Back in 1981, a Japanese video game designer Shigeru Miyamoto created the soon-to-be colossal — Mario. Acting as the Nintendo's mascot, as well as being the eponymous protagonist of the series, Mario has appeared in over 200 video games and became one of the most recognized and loved game characters ever created. In 1985, Super Mario Bros. video game, the successor to the 1983 arcade game Mario Bros. and the first in the Super Mario series of platformers, was developed and published by Nintendo. To date, Mario has appeared in over 200 video games since his creation. We look forward to Mario being brought to life on the big screen in 2023 with the long-awaited release of Super Mario: The Movie.
